There are thousands of children living on US Military Bases throughout the world. Children who see the sacrifices their parents make, to serve our country. Children who also make sacrifices of their own.
•Over 65% of these young people's families are classified in the lower-economic bracket, thus qualifying for the Federal "Free or Reduced-Lunch" program. •Many have relocated as many as five times, over the course of their childhood. •According to a recent study by the Journal of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, children who have a parent deployed are 2 1/2 times more likely to have mental health or behavioral issues than American kids in general. |

Our mission is to promote healthy, positive development of military children, by bringing an all-star basketball camp experience to US bases throughout the world. Each camp will highlight "The Three I's," provide development of fundamental basketball skills and emphasize team building and leadership. Hoops From Home will invite our military youth, ages 9-17 to participate, and tuition free. During the camp, they will receive coaching and training from NBA Stars, college players and coaches. The camp will conclude with competitions between campers and our NBA stars, thus providing an inspiring day camp experience. |
